     Jeduthan Stone was born on 13 February 1748 at Rutland, MA.² He was the son of Nathan Stone and Mary Robbins. Jeduthan Stone married Elizabeth How, daughter of Paul How and Elizabeth Howe, on 11 January 1773 at Rutland, MA; (June per Rice Gen'l Register) listed as Elizabeth of Paxton.^2,3 Jeduthan Stone died on 8 March 1829; according to unofficial records. The Rice Genealogical Register reports the date as 8 March 1825.^4,2

     Sarah Newton was born on 25 November 1751 at Rutland, MA.^3,2 She was the daughter of Lt. Jonas Newton and Rebecca (?).² Sarah Newton married Deacon Jonah How, son of Paul How and Elizabeth Howe.¹ Sarah Newton died on 21 August 1839; aged 88y, under the name Howe.^4,2 She was buried at Paxton Cemetery, Paxton, MA.⁴

     Delia How was born on 24 September 1748 at Rutland, MA, registered as Dille.^3,1 She was the daughter of Paul How and Elizabeth Howe.² Delia How married Silas Newton, son of Phineas Newton and Patience How; Silas of Paxton.⁴ Delia How died on 10 February 1783 at Paxton, MA; aged 34y, under the name Newton.^5,6,7 She was buried at Paxton Cemetery, Paxton, MA.⁶
     It is not entirely clear that Deliverance and Delia were the same person. Although the death record of Silas's next wife Matilda explicitly calls her his second wife, there is a four-year gap between the last child registered to 'Deliverance' and the first to 'Delia'. Still, there is no record at Paxton of the death of a Deliverance Newton in that gap. One possible explanation would be that there were actually two Silases (and, indeed, Hezekiah Newton of Southborough, Leicester, Rutland, and Paxton had a son Silas of very nearly the same age), but there is no death record at Paxton for an extra Silas. She was also known as Deliverance; registered as Deliverance on the birth records of her first five children.
