     Asa Noble Rice was born on 2 January 1795 at Guilford, VT, Asa's birth record also refers to Asa's mother and father, and records the date of birth of his brothers, Joseph and Emery.4,5 He was the son of Captain Asa Rice and Esther Gould.3 Asa Noble Rice married Sally Mellendy, daughter of Samuel Mellendy and Sarah Gale, on 23 April 1816 at Guilford, VT.5 Asa Noble Rice married (?) Bradley. Asa Noble Rice died circa 1880.
     On 21 February 1817 Asa Rice entered into a land transaction at Brattleboro, VT. On 22 February Asa appeared before Justice of the Peace Lemuel Whitney in Guilford, Vermont to acknowledge a deed of sale, and the Town Clerk, Willard Martin, then entered the deed in the (Guilford, VT) town records. This deed of sale of Asa Rice 2nd's land to his wife Sally's brothers also makes mention of Asa's mother, his brother Daniel and his sister Esther.1

     George W Gaby Sr was born on 16 January 1747 at Trowbridge, Wiltshire, England.5 Marriage banns for George W Gaby Sr and Esther Twitchell were published on 25 December 1776 at Petersham, MA.10 George W Gaby Sr married Esther Twitchell on 16 January 1777 at Athol, MA.11,12,6 George W Gaby Sr died on 23 April 1828; " George Gaby died April 23, 1828, aged 84; He was a native of Trowbridge, England, and came to this country prior to the Revolution & fought in several battles. He was a pensioner."4,5
