William Ayre on 3 January 1758 at Brookfield, MA; (sic, probably 1755 instead).2 Persis Rice died on 9 January 1756 at Brookfield, MA; aged 33y, under the name Ayres.2 She was buried at Brookfield Cemetery, Brookfield, MA.2

     Capt. Tilly Rice was born on 8 November 1724 at Brookfield, MA.3,4 He was the son of Obadiah Rice and Esther Merrick. Marriage banns for Capt. Tilly Rice and Mary Buckminster were published on 9 September 1748 at Springfield, MA; listed as Tilly of Springfield and Mary of Brookfield.5 Capt. Tilly Rice married Mary Buckminster, daughter of Thomas Buckminster and Sarah Baxter, on 2 November 1748 at Brookfield, MA.1,2,6 Capt. Tilly Rice died on 6 November 1803 at Brookfield, MA; aged 79y.7,8 He was buried at Brookfield Cemetery, Brookfield, MA.4
     Capt. Tilly Rice and Mary Buckminster resided at Brookfield, MA, at the foot of Foster's Hill.7 Captain Tilly Rice was appointed guardian for Molly and Thomas Rice (children of his brother Edward, WRN 571) in 1787; they discharged him of that trust on 27 April 1790.9
