Asa Rice married 1st Elizabeth Livermore, daughter of Deacon Jonathan Livermore and Abigail Ball, Elizabeth of Northboro', Mass.¹ Asa Rice married 2nd Betsy Taylor on 20 May 1777 at Northborough, MA.^4,5 Asa Rice died circa April 1778 at Northborough, MA; (not found in the published records).⁴
     Asa Rice and Elizabeth Livermore resided at Northborough, MA.⁴ Asa Rice was in the military in 1757 serving in the French War from Westboro', and belong to Capt. Bezaleel Eager's Company.⁴ He left a will in March 1778, proved 6 May 1778, son Luther, Executor. The will mentions wife Betsy; daughter Asenath Hastings; sons Luther, Calvin and Israel; and an unborn child who is to receive £50 at age 21.⁴

     Adam Holloway married 2nd Hannah Haywood, daughter of George Haywood and Mary (?), on 5 March 1681 at Concord, MA, of Westborough and Northborough.²

     Their first six children were also recorded at Upton.⁹ Zebulon Rice resided after 1737 at Westborough, MA.¹⁰ He was in the military in 1757 serving as a soldier in Fay's Company from Westboro.¹⁰' He was an appraiser on William Wright's estate in 1777 at Brookfield, MA.¹⁰

     Solomon Rice was born on 1 September 1713 at Marlborough, MA.^3,4 He was the son of Charles Rice and Rachel Wheeler. Solomon Rice married Anna Rice, daughter of Edmund Rice and Ruth Parker, on 12 March 1741 at Westborough, MA; both of Westborough.^1,2,5 Solomon Rice died on 11 March 1802 at Hardwick, MA; at age 88 years, 6 months.⁶
     On 14 June 1739 at Westborough, MA, Solomon Rice conveyed to Fairbanks Morse of Narragansett Township No. 2 (Westminster) in consideration of L140, lot No. 58, with present and after divisions, laid, and that may be laid out thereto, containing fifty-three and one half acres, as appears by a plan of said township; which lot he acquired by virtue of title from William Richardson, a proprietor thereof. Justinain Holden and Joseph Miller, witnesses. Holden was of Westminster. The deed was not acknowledged until 20 March 1743/44. Fairbanks Moore moved into that township in 1737, being the first family that moved into that place.⁷ He and Anna Rice resided at Westborough, according to Ward, for a short time after their marriage, but it must have been very short.⁷ Solomon Rice and Anna Rice resided at Hardwick, MA.⁷

     Adam Rice was born on 18 August 1715 at Marlborough, MA.^2,3 He was the son of Charles Rice and Rachel Wheeler. Adam Rice married Persis (?).²
     Adam Rice resided at Westborough, MA.⁴ He was in the military in 1757 at Westborough, MA, serving in that town in Capt. Benjamin Fray's Company.⁴ He was dismissed to the church at Hanover, New Hampshire in 1791 at Westborough, MA.⁴ He resided in 1791 at Hanover, NH.⁴

     Oliver Rice was born on 2 May 1717 at Marlborough (Westborough), MA.^2,3 He was the son of Charles Rice and Rachel Wheeler. Oliver Rice married Hannah Bartlet, daughter of Samuel Bartlet and Judith Coffin, on 30 June 1742 at Grafton, MA; listed as Oliver of Shrewsbury and Hannah of Grafton (erroneously called Hannah Barrett by Ward).^1,4,5,6
     Oliver Rice resided after 1739 at Hardwick, MA, where he had purchased land.⁷ He was in the military in 1757 serving as a soldier from Hardwick.⁷ Children were born at Hardwick, and recorded there, but so mutilated are the records that the names of four of them are lost. No record there of the death of either of the parents.⁸

     Elijah Rice was born on 26 June 1719 at Westborough, MA.^2,3 He was the son of Charles Rice and Rachel Wheeler. Elijah Rice married Sarah Shattuck, daughter of Daniel Shattuck and Martha Serjent, on 24 May 1744 at Westborough, MA.^1,4 Elijah Rice married Prudence Hardy, daughter of Phineas Hardy and Prudence Warren, on 12 August 1762 at Upton, MA.^5,6 Elijah Rice died on 19 April 1785 at Henniker, NH.⁵

     Adonijah Rice was christened on 28 May 1727 at Westborough, MA.^3,4 He was the son of Charles Rice and Rachel Wheeler. Adonijah Rice married Hannah Crosby, daughter of David Crosby and Sarah (?), on 3 July 1751 at Westborough, MA.^1,2,5 Adonijah Rice died circa 1780; as a casualty of the American Revolutionary War.⁶
     Adonijah Rice and Hannah Crosby resided at Westborough, MA.⁶ Adonijah Rice and Hannah Crosby were warned out of town on 12 May 1752 at Hardwick, MA.⁷ Adonijah Rice was in the military in 1757 serving as a soldier in Capt. B. Fay's Company, and received a bounty. Also in the Revolutionary War, belonging to Barns' Company, 15th Regiment, and on the military rolls marked "dead."⁶ He and Hannah Crosby were warned out of town along with their children Hannah and Prudence on 10 May 1757 at Upton, MA.⁷ Adonijah Rice and Hannah Crosby were warned out of town again along with their children Hannah, Prudence, Anna, Samuel, and Adonijah in 1763 at Upton, MA.⁷

     Charles Rice was born on 1 March 1730/31 at Westborough, MA.² He was the son of Charles Rice and Rachel Wheeler. Leah Jennings married 1st Charles Rice on 6 January 1758 at Brookfield, MA, Charles of Westboro', Mass; Leah of Brookfield, Mass.^1,3,4 He died circa 14 March 1758 at Brookfield, MA.⁵
     Charles was killed by Indians prior to 1758. Ward's The Rice Family indicates that he, living in Westboro', served for 6 months in John Toplin's (militia) company in 1755 and in 1757 with Captain Fay's (militia) company. It doesn't indicate whether Charles was killed by Indians while on active duty or during some other encounter. Evidently he and Leah Jennings were only married for 3 months before his death. His widow Leah settled his estate. Inventory £425 29 December 1758, one item of which included 100 acres of land in Brookfield, held by deed from his brother Elijah Rice, dated 16 February 1754.
In settlement of her administration account, 30 April 1761, Leah claimed "allowance for supporting Charles, the only child of her husband Charles, 3 years old the 7th of March last, being but one week old at the death of his father."⁵

Marriage banns for Lt Benjamin Rice and Ruth Budge were published on 20 March 1776 at Cambridge, MA; listed as Benjamin of Winchendon and Ruth of Charlestown.⁵ Marriage banns for Lt Benjamin Rice and Ruth Budge were published on 29 March 1776 at Winchendon, MA; listed as Ruth of Charlestown.^3,6,7 Lt Benjamin Rice died on 7 May 1840 at Winchendon, MA; at age 96.^6,8 He was buried at New Boston Cemetery, Winchendon, MA.⁹
     Lt Benjamin Rice was in the military in June 1775 serving in the Revolutionary War. He was wounded at the Battle of Bunker Hill in the head by a musket ball, later causing him a great deal of suffering.⁶ His sword, powder horn and gun are on display at the Winchendon Public Library.⁶

     Phineas Rice was born on 4 August 1724 at Westborough, MA.^3,4 He was the son of Perez Rice and Lydia (?). Phineas Rice married Hannah Cummins on 23 March 1743/44 at Sutton, MA.^1,2,5 Phineas Rice married Abigail (?); (not found in the published records). Phineas Rice died circa April 1788 at Barre, MA.⁶

     Jedediah Rice MD was a physician at Hardwick, MA.⁶ He and Mehitable Cutter resided at Hardwick, MA.⁶ The inventory of his estate, £292.15.4, returned by his widow, Mehitabel, 16 April 1756, who settled his estate.⁶

     Ephraim Rice was born on 14 March 1729 at Westborough, MA.^4,1,2,3 He was the son of Perez Rice and Lydia (?). Ephraim Rice died before 1804; presumably, since his son Perez's will mentions his mother but not his father.^2,5
     Note that no marriage or births of children for Ephraim are listed in the vital records of Hardwick or Sutton (or any other Massachusetts town, for that matter). Therefore, we do not show a marriage for Ephraim or a mother for his children. No marriage record has been found. He was in the military between 20 September 1756 and 5 December 1756 serving in the French and Indian War. With his cousin Oliver (son of Charles, his father's brother), he was a member of Capt. Mandell's company which marched from Hardwick, MA to Lake Champlain, probably crossing the Green Mountains in Vermont.^2,6 Ephraim Rice was in a land transaction on 28 February 1761 at Hardwick, MA, selling 100 acres of land to Andrew Haskell. He had previously purchased the land from Aaron Thomas.⁶ He resided in 1765 at Hardwick, MA, listed as a grantee of Town of Somerset, VT (West Dover), but his sons cleared and settled the homestead.² He resided He was among the original 62 proprietors of Somerset, VT, however, he never came to claim his land. Instead he traveled south, taking a heard of horses to South Carolina, and was never heard of again. It was assumed that he had been murdered during that trip. Ephraim's sons, Daniel, Simeon, and Perez went to Somerset, VT, to claim Ephraim's lands there. His son, John, and his family, also moved there.^7,2

However, the vital records for the births of Stephen's next two children list Mary as the mother, and the vital records of Sutton confirm the marriage.^6,7,8

Judah Rice married Sarah Kelley on 7 December 1758 at Upton, MA; (1 December per Rice Gen'l Register) listed as Sarah of Leominster.^2,3,7 Judah Rice died circa 1801 at Westport, Digby Co, NS.⁸
     Judah Rice was also known as Jude Rice.⁴ He resided circa 1760 at Nova Scotia.⁵ He and Sarah Kelley resided circa 1765 at Stony Beach, Granville, Annapolis Co, NS.⁸ Judah Rice and Sarah Kelley resided after 1785 at Briar Island, Digby Co, NS. Brian McDormand notes: About 1785 Judah and most of his family settled at Briar Island. On 30 Sept. 1788 Martin Kerger sold to Judah Rice of Briar Island, one half of home lot 9 and entire joining lot 10.⁹

     Asaph Rice was born on 9 March 1733 at Westborough, MA, (May per Ward - the vital records list him with the same birth date as Stephen, but his college career and reported age at death make it clear that the vital records are wrong, and the baptism record makes it clear that Ward is wrong about the month of birth).^3,4,2 He was the son of Beriah Rice and Mary Goodenow. Asaph Rice was baptized on 11 March 1732/33 at Westborough, MA; (literally 1733).³ Marriage banns for Asaph Rice and Mary Morse were published on 2 December 1765 at Westminster, MA; listed as Mary of Shrewsbury.⁵ Asaph Rice married Mary Morse, daughter of Rev Ebenezer Morse and Persis Bush, on 26 December 1765 at Shrewsbury, MA; listed as Asaph of Westminster.^6,1,2 Marriage banns for Asaph Rice and Thankful Clough were published in February 1771 at Westminster, MA; listed as Thankful of Boston.⁵ Asaph Rice married Thankful Clough, daughter of Ebenezer Clough, on 14 February 1771 at Boston, MA; (1777 per Supplement).^7,8,2 Asaph Rice married Lucy Barron on 7 July 1796 at Templeton, MA; listed as Asaph of Westminster and Lucy Shattuck of Templeton.^5,8,2 Asaph Rice died on 31 March 1816 at Westminster, MA; (30 April per Ward, 30 March per Supplement, 22 March per church records) aged 83y, still serving in his ministerial office.^5,8,2 His estate was probated on 23 May 1816. The inventory of his estate, returned to his widow Lucy, was $259.03.⁸ He was buried at Old Cemetery, Westminster, MA.⁵
     Asaph Rice was practicing medicine for a short time, but, having the wrist of his bridle arm broken by his horse falling with him, he was induced to qualify for the gospel ministry at Brookfield, MA.⁸ He graduated in 1752 at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, studying medicine.⁸ He was ordained on 16 October 1765 at Westminster, MA. He was a missionary among the Indians for a short time before 1765 before his ordination, and was the second settled minister at Westminster.⁸

     Timothy Rice was born on 18 February 1734/35 at Westborough, MA.^1,2 He was the son of Beriah Rice and Mary Goodenow. Timothy Rice died after 22 January 1823.³
     Timothy Rice resided in 1768 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS. The 1768 census for Annapolis, Annapolis Co, NS shows Timothy Rice with one other male in his household, both American. A younger brother? David? Joseph? We believe that his father, Beriah, had died by this time. The 1770 census for Annapolis shows Timothy Rice with three in his household, all American. Two younger brothers and sisters? David, Joseph? Sarah was probably married to Elias Wheelock by that time.⁴ He resided in 1792 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS, where he was listed by the township as overseer of highways.⁵ He left a will on 22 January 1823 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS,, naming his nephews Benjamin and Asaph Rice, sons of brother Beriah Rice. Asaph Rice was designated as executor. Of Benjamin Rice, Timothy's will said: "Secondly I will and bequeath to my nephew Benjamin Rice, son of my brother Beriah Rice, the sum of five shillings lawful money of Nova Scotia and no more; for however affectionately disposed toward him I am convinced (with much regret) that acting otherwise would prove a hurt but no benefit to him, and what of his debts I have paid or am bound to pay, it is my will that the payment thereof be considered an ample equivalent to the wages which he may constituted unto for his former work on the farm and that those payments be considered in lieu of ...³ "

     Col. Stephen Rice was born on 15 March 1736/37 at Westborough, MA.^4,5,6 He was the son of Beriah Rice and Mary Goodenow. Col. Stephen Rice married Dorothy Woods, daughter of Deacon James Woods and Hephzibah Eager, on 10 November 1763 at Marlborough, MA.^1,3,7,8 Col. Stephen Rice died on 24 November 1831 at Hardwick, MA; aged 95y.^9,10 He was buried at Central Cemetery, Hardwick, MA.⁹
     Col. Stephen Rice resided between 1760 and 1765 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS. Stephen was a passenger on the 23 May 1760 voyage of the Charming Molly to Annapolis Royal. He was also a petitioner for the Grant of Confirmation of Township of Annapolis, dated October 30th, 1765.^11,12 He emigrated on 17 May 1760 from Boston, MA, on the Charming Molly with 45 persons aboard. On board were three Rice men -- Benjamin, Stephen, and Beriah.¹³ He and Dorothy Woods resided at Hardwick, MA.¹⁰ Col. Stephen Rice was a delegate to the conventions of 1774 and 1775, preparatory to the American Revolution.¹⁰ He was a representative from Hardwick between 1775 and 1784.¹⁰ He was in the military after 1776 serving as a Lt. Col. in the Regiment where of Job Cushing was Col. Warner's Brigade, on the Northern frontier.¹⁰ He left a will on 20 April 1821, proved 7 February 1832, wife Dorothy and son Ashbel Executors. The will mentioned wife Dorothy; sons Ashbel, Stephen, and Thomas; daughters Mary Freeman, Hepzibah Rice, Lucy Rice, and Lydia Rice.¹⁰

     Mary Rice was born on 23 May 1739 at Westborough, MA, (March per Ward).^2,1,3 She was the daughter of Beriah Rice and Mary Goodenow. Mary Rice married Paul Hazeltine, son of John Hazelton and Jane Wood, on 25 July 1754 at Upton, MA.^1,3,4 Mary Rice and Paul Hazeltine were divorced in 1787. From the record of the Superior Court session at Marlborough (MA) on the fifth Tuesday of August, 1786, we learn that on that day Mary Hazelton and Timothy Holbrook were sentenced to receive 25 stripes each. Although the court record does not show their crime, Paul's next action sheds some light on the subject. Paul Hazelton petitioned for divorce from his wife Mary, claiming that "Mary, his present wife for a considerable time hath been so unmindful of her duty to God and to your Petitioner her present husband as wholly to desart (sic) from his Bed and Board and hath lately been often guilty of the sin of adultry with one Timothy Holbrook ...⁵ " Mary Rice married Timothy Holbrook after 1787.⁵
     Mary Rice was also known as Mary Rice.^1,3 She and Paul Hazeltine resided after 25 July 1754 at Upton, MA.⁵ In his History of the County of Annapolis, 1897, Calnek lists a Paul Hazeltine who arrived in Annapolis, NS in the late summer of 1760. He possessed two oxen, one cow, and one horse. Unfortunately, the marital status and number of children are not given. Paul Hazeltine/Hazelton's wife, Mary Rice was a daughter of Beriah Rice who is known to have moved to Annapolis, Annapolis, NS in 1760. In his supplement to Calnek's History of the County of Annapolis, Judge Savary provides a copy of the list of grantors of the township of Annapolis, dated 30 October 1765, Paul Hazelton's name appears on that list. By the census of 1768, there was no Paul Haseltine/Hazelton family in Granville or Annapolis. According to Lois L Hupfer of Denver, CO, Paul Hazeltine was first recorded in Townshend, VT in March 1761 where his name was listed on the original charter for the town. In May of 1761 he was charged to settle five rights and have five men at work by 5 June. By 1766 the birth of their daughter, Mary, was the first recorded child born in Townshend, VT. The IGI places of birth for sons John, Thaddeus, Royal, and Paul are undoubtedly in error. It is likely that John and Thaddeus were born in Upton, MA and Royal and Paul were born in Annapolis, NS. However, until their places of birth can be verified from original records, your author lists no place of birth for them.^5,6,7 Mary Rice and Paul Hazeltine resided in 1766 at Townshend, VT.⁵

     Sarah Rice was born on 22 March 1741 at Westborough, MA.^3,1,2 She was the daughter of Beriah Rice and Mary Goodenow.
     Sarah Rice probably died young. Her father's will mentions a 'fourth daughter Sarah' who would be the one born in Upton.^1,2

     Lucy Rice was born on 19 March 1743 at Westborough, MA.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of Beriah Rice and Mary Goodenow.
     Although the Supplement 1 to The Rice Family, page 10, has Lucy married to Elkanah Morton, was his wife Lucy Rice (b 1743), daughter of Beriah, or Lucy Wheelock, daughter of Rachel Rice (b 1745)? Your author has chosen Lucy Wheelock as the date of Lucy Morton's son's birth is 1793, an almost impossible date for Lucy Rice (b 1743).

     Rachel Rice was born on 1 May 1746 at Westborough, MA, (1745 per Ward).^1,2,3 She was the daughter of Beriah Rice and Mary Goodenow. Marriage banns for Rachel Rice and Obadiah Wheelock were published on 17 June 1765 at Uxbridge, MA; On p. 154, Calnek presents the 1768 census for Annapolis which lists Obadiah Wheelock with one male and three females in the household, all four Americans. We can assume that he and Rachel were married about three years before this time. While one of the females may have been Rachel's sister, Sarah, it is likely that at least one was their first daughter.^4,2,5

     Beriah Rice Jr was born on 16 August 1747 at Westborough, MA, (not found in the published records).³ He was baptized on 16 August 1747 at Sudbury, MA; not in the record of the First Parish Church, Sudbury (Rice Gen'l Register indicates date of baptism as 16 August 1746).^1,2,4 He was the son of Beriah Rice and Mary Goodenow. Beriah Rice Jr married Meriam (?) circa 1770 at Annapolis County, NS; the marriage of Beriah Rice to Navine McQuillan, cited in the Rice Genealogical Register, is in error. In the past there was uncertainty about who was the first wife of Beriah (Jr). Recent research by Sherri Tomiak (2004) into the land records for Annapolis and Halifax counties record that Beriah Rice and Meriam Rice, his wife, signed land papers as early as January 1770 and as late as March 1783 as residents of Annapolis, as residents of Dartmouth between March 1787 and December 1789, and as residents of Halifax in February 1790. Based on these land records we can conclude that Beriah Rice's first wife was Meriam and that she was alive as late as 1790.^2,5 Beriah Rice Jr married Catherine Owens circa 1798 at Nova Scotia; Your authors have concluded that the Rice Gen'l Register is unreliable in regard to Beriah's family. There seems to be no justification for asserting that he had a daughter Naomi, for example.^6,7,2 Beriah Rice Jr married Catherine Ann (?) after 1801; Although there is uncertainty about whether Beriah had two or three wives, the 1818 census tells us that his last wife was the mother of Robert Muckford Rice and that her name was Catherine Ann. There is speculation that she was the daughter of Robert Mugford, who befriended Beriah, because Beriah named his son Robert Muckford. It is equally probable that Beriah named his son Robert Muckford Rice because of the senior Robert's kindness to Beriah. Therefore, your author does not give Catherine Ann the family name Muckford.⁸ Beriah Rice Jr died before 1818 at Baddeck, Victoria Co, NS, as his wife was listed as a widow in the 1818 census at Baddeck, Cape Breton.⁹
     Beriah Rice Jr and Meriam (?) had 10 children.⁸ Beriah Rice Jr resided between 1760 and 1770 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS, M.¹⁰ He emigrated on 17 May 1760 from Boston, MA, the Rice Genealogical Register reports that Beriah Rice emigrated on the ship Charming Molly with 45 persons aboard. The record of that voyage has survived and names the three Rice men -- Benjamin, Stephen, and Beriah. The named Beriah may have been this Beriah or Beriah's father.^2,11 He and Meriam (?) resided between 1770 and 1783 at Annapolis, Annapolis Co, NS.¹² Beriah Rice Jr resided between 1792 and 1793 at McNabs Island, Halifax, Halifax Co, NS, where he was listed on the tax assessment record as a laborer.¹³
Some family historians have said that there were two Beriah's and some, three. Few documents of that time have survived. We are indebted to the late Dr Laurence Patterson, late Director Emeritus of the Edmund Rice (1638) Association, who discovered the following memorial, extracted from the Cape Breton Land Papers 1800-1808. This land paper provides very compelling evidence that there were only a Beriah Sr and Beriah Jr:
"The memorial of Beriah Rice, born in America humbly sheweth. That your Honor's memorialist hath been in the Province of Nova Scotia and this Island since the fourteenth year of his age ... that your memorialist has been a married man since the year 1775 - his first wife dieing after having a family of ten children - six of which are now living some with families and some singel (sic), that your memorialist is now married to a second wife - having now a family by her in three years, two children. The whole of your memorialist's offspring being bred to Industry in the farming line --- your memorialist hopes if encouraged by your Honor with a license of occupation for whatsoever quality of land your Honor may think (fitting for his) use by bringing his offspring together - hopes in the fiture (sic) that there may be a settlement of a little village of His own family.
"That your memorialist hath been for nearly two years living in a house of Robert Mugford, at Baddeck, in assisting him and adjoining to his premises hath in the course of these last two years cleared and cultivated about 7 or 8 acres which were never cleared, occupied, or possessed before ... ... Beriah Rice, Sydney C.B. October 30, 1801."
The Cape Breton Land Paper and the Parish Record of St George Church, Sydney, NS provide compelling evidence that Beriah's second wife in 1799 was Catherine Owens and that Beriah and Catherine had at least two children. One of their children was Catherine Rice, born before 18 September 1799.^8,3,2 He and Catherine Owens resided on 30 October 1801 at Baddeck, Victoria Co, NS.⁸

     Dr Benjamin Rice was born on 11 May 1749 at Westborough, MA, Ward reports the birth location in error as Annapolis, NS. (Not found in the published vital records of Westborough.).¹ He was the son of Beriah Rice and Mary Goodenow. Dr Benjamin Rice married Martha Bent, daughter of Micah Bent and Grace Rice, on 31 January 1774 at Sudbury, MA; (1744 per Boston copy) listed as Benjamin of Boston and Martha of Sudbury.^1,3,4 Dr Benjamin Rice died in 1782 at Boston, MA.^5,6
     Dr Benjamin Rice resided between 1760 and 1769 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS, Benjamin Rice is listed as a petitioner for the Grant of Confirmation of the Township of Annapolis, 30 October 1765 and living single in the 1768 census for Annapolis. His name does not appear in the 1770 census for Annapolis.^7,8,5 He emigrated on 17 May 1760 from Boston, MA, on the Charming Molly with 45 persons aboard. On board were three Rice men -- Benjamin, Stephen, and Beriah.⁹ He graduated in 1773 at Harvard College, Cambridge, MA, attending from 1769.⁵ He was a physician.⁵ He resided between 1775 and 1782 at Boston, MA.⁵

     Mary Morse was born on 24 December 1747 at Shrewsbury, MA.^4,3 She was the daughter of Rev Ebenezer Morse and Persis Bush.³ Marriage banns for Mary Morse and Asaph Rice were published on 2 December 1765 at Westminster, MA; listed as Mary of Shrewsbury.⁵ Mary Morse married Asaph Rice, son of Beriah Rice and Mary Goodenow, on 26 December 1765 at Shrewsbury, MA; listed as Asaph of Westminster.^4,1,2 Mary Morse died on 29 March 1767 at Westminster, MA; aged 19y, under the name Rice.^5,3,2 She was buried at Old Cemetery, Westminster, MA.⁵

     Col. Thomas Hapgood was born on 13 November 1747 at Marlborough, MA.^2,3 He was the son of Joseph Hapgood and Mary Brooks. Col. Thomas Hapgood married Lucy Woods, daughter of Deacon James Woods and Hephzibah Eager, on 16 December 1773 at Marlborough, MA.^1,4 Col. Thomas Hapgood died on 13 September 1822 at Marlborough, MA; aged 75y.^5,2 He was buried at Spring Hill Cemetery, Marlborough, MA.^5,2

     Martha Bent was the daughter of Micah Bent and Grace Rice.² Martha Bent married Dr Benjamin Rice, son of Beriah Rice and Mary Goodenow, on 31 January 1774 at Sudbury, MA; (1744 per Boston copy) listed as Benjamin of Boston and Martha of Sudbury.^1,3,4 Martha Bent married (?) Bacon.² Martha Bent married (?) Newman.²

     Joshua Warren was born on 4 July 1668 at Watertown, MA, under the name Warrin.^1,2,3 He was the son of Daniel Warren and Mary Barron. Joshua Warren married Rebecca Church. Joshua Warren died on 30 January 1760.^1,4
