     Susannah Parmenter was born on 28 December 1726 at Sudbury, MA.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of Jonathan Parmenter and Mary Spring. Susannah Parmenter died on 12 February 1748/49 at Sudbury, MA; daughter of Jonathan and Mary.^1,4 She married Isaac Woodward, son of John Woodward and Saphira Moore; your authors note that this is a very doubtful record. The published vital records for Sudbury make it quite clear that this Susanna Parmenter, daughter of Jonathan and Mary, died in 1748/49. Supplement 2, Part 1 to The Rice Family gives the date of death of Susannah and her presumptive husband as the same date - a very unlikely occurrence. Your authors acknowledge that the mother of Isaac Woodward's children is recorded in the Sudbury vital records as Susannah, but question why there is no marriage record at Sudbury as both Isaac Woodward and Susannah Parmenter were born at Sudbury and the births of Isaac's children are listed at Sudbury.² Susannah Parmenter died on 9 March 1814 at Swanzey, NH. Your authors note that the Sudbury vital records are very clear about the death of Susannah Parmenter in 1748/9. The Woodward connection may be a case of mistaken identity.²

     Abigail Parmenter was born on 30 September 1734 at Sudbury, MA.^1,2 She was the daughter of Jonathan Parmenter and Mary Spring. Abigail Parmenter married Thomas Grout, son of John Grout and Margaret (?), on 19 January 1756 at Sudbury, MA.^1,3

     Susannah Bryant was born on 28 January 1727 at Sudbury, MA, under the name Briant.^3,4 She was the daughter of Thomas Briant Jr and Sarah Noyes.² Susannah Bryant married Major Jonathan Parmenter, son of Jonathan Parmenter and Mary Spring, on 14 February 1752 at Sudbury, MA.^1,5 Susannah Bryant died on 8 February 1825 at East Sudbury (Wayland), MA; aged 101 (sic) under the name Parmenter.^3,6

     Thomas Grout was born on 6 February 1727/28 at Sudbury, MA.² He was the son of John Grout and Margaret (?). Thomas Grout married Abigail Parmenter, daughter of Jonathan Parmenter and Mary Spring, on 19 January 1756 at Sudbury, MA.^1,3

     Jacob Gibson was born circa 1751.¹ He was the son of Capt Timothy Gibson and Persis Rice. Jacob Gibson married Hannah Hardy on 7 October 1789.¹

     Capt. Joseph Gibson was born on 8 July 1750 at Stow, MA, (listed as June on p. 96 of Rice Gen'l Register).^1,2 He was the son of Capt Timothy Gibson and Persis Rice. Capt. Joseph Gibson married Olive Randall on 28 May 1772.¹ Capt. Joseph Gibson died on 26 May 1801 at Henniker, NH; from injuries sustained in the fall of his horse.^3,4
     Capt. Joseph Gibson was one of the prominent men of Henniker for over 25 years, serving as a selectman many terms and also as an officer in the militia.³

     John Gibson was born on 9 February 1746/47 at Stow, MA.^1,2 He was the son of Capt Timothy Gibson and Persis Rice.

     Abel Gibson was born circa 1744 at Stow, MA, (not found in the published records).¹ He was the son of Capt Timothy Gibson and Persis Rice. Abel Gibson married Mary Gibson, daughter of Arrington Gibson and Mary (?), on 19 May 1768 at Lunenburg, MA; (not found in the published records).¹ Abel Gibson died in 1829 at Solon, NY.²

     Lucy Gibson was born circa 1743.¹ She was the daughter of Capt Timothy Gibson and Persis Rice.

     Persis Gibson was born circa 1741.¹ She was the daughter of Capt Timothy Gibson and Persis Rice. Marriage banns for Persis Gibson and Thomas Brown were published on 1 October 1763 at Stow, MA.^2,1 Persis Gibson died on 13 March 1790 at Henniker, NH.^3,4

     Timothy Gibson was the son of Capt Timothy Gibson and Persis Rice. Timothy Gibson married an unknown person on 20 February 1773; Margaret of Stow.¹ Marriage banns for Timothy Gibson and Margaret Whitman were published on 20 February 1773 at Stow, MA; given as the marriage itself by the Rice Gen'l Register.^2,1 Timothy Gibson died on 16 January 1814 at Brownfield, ME.³

     Samuel Gibson was born on 17 November 1737.¹ He was the son of Capt Timothy Gibson and Persis Rice. Samuel Gibson died on 2 July 1740 at Stow, MA; aged 3y 1m 15d.^1,2 He was buried at Old Cemetery, Stow, MA.²

     Betty Gibson was born on 12 March 1734.¹ She was the daughter of Capt Timothy Gibson and Persis Rice. Betty Gibson died on 17 June 1740 at Stow, MA; aged 6y 3m 5d.^1,2 She was buried at Old Cemetery, Stow, MA.²

     Timothy Gibson was born on 29 October 1730 at Groton, MA, under the name Gipson.^1,2 He was the son of Capt Timothy Gibson and Persis Rice. Timothy Gibson died on 25 May 1738 at Stow, MA; aged 7y 6m 25d.^1,3 He was buried at Old Cemetery, Stow, MA.³

     Ruth Clemens was born circa 1747.² She married Aaron Gates, son of Benjamin Gates and Bethulia Rice, on 25 May 1768 at Upton, MA; (15 May per Rice Gen'l Register) both of Rutland (Barre).^1,3 Ruth Clemens died in April 1830 at Barre, MA; at age 83.²

     Catherine Morse married Jonathan Gates, son of Benjamin Gates and Bethulia Rice, on 4 May 1770 at Rutland District (Barre), MA.^1,2

     Phineas Perry married Esther Gates, daughter of Benjamin Gates and Bethulia Rice, on 15 May 1760 at Rutland District (Barre), MA.^1,2

     Experience Mason was born on 24 November 1741 at Sudbury, MA.^2,3 She was the daughter of Daniel Mason and Ann Allen.² Experience Mason married Capt. Benjamin Gates, son of Benjamin Gates and Bethulia Rice, on 21 October 1762 at Westborough, MA; Benjamin of Rutland.^1,4 Experience Mason died on 30 October 1826 at Barre, MA; (29th per Rice Gen'l Register) under the name Gates.^5,6

     Catherine Smith was born on 21 April 1746 at Sherborn, MA.² She was the daughter of Nathaniel Smith and Abigail Battelle. Catherine Smith married Private Makepeace Gates, son of Benjamin Gates and Bethulia Rice, on 6 June 1765 at Rutland District (Barre), MA.^1,3 Catherine Smith died on 23 June 1820 at Barre, MA; wife of Makepeace.⁴

     Elizabeth Brewer was born circa 1731, as calculated from her death record. She married Ensign Israel Gates, son of Benjamin Gates and Bethulia Rice, on 30 April 1753 at Sudbury, MA.^1,2 Elizabeth Brewer died on 10 April 1824 at Conway, MA; aged 92y, under the name Gates.³ She was buried at Howland Cemetery, Conway, MA.³
     Note that the Rice Gen'l Register incorrectly refers to her as Esther.

     Bethulia Gates was baptized on 22 March 1746/47 at Worcester, MA.^2,1 She was the daughter of Benjamin Gates and Bethulia Rice.

     Jonathan Gates was born on 27 July 1742 at Worcester, MA.^1,2 He was the son of Benjamin Gates and Bethulia Rice. Jonathan Gates married Catherine Morse on 4 May 1770 at Rutland District (Barre), MA.^1,3 Jonathan Gates died in 1815 at Whitingham, VT.¹

     Esther Gates was born on 20 April 1739 at Worcester, MA.^1,2 She was the daughter of Benjamin Gates and Bethulia Rice. Esther Gates married Phineas Perry on 15 May 1760 at Rutland District (Barre), MA.^1,3

     Capt. Benjamin Gates was born on 27 November 1737 at Worcester, MA.^1,2 He was the son of Benjamin Gates and Bethulia Rice. Capt. Benjamin Gates married Experience Mason, daughter of Daniel Mason and Ann Allen, on 21 October 1762 at Westborough, MA; Benjamin of Rutland.^1,3 Capt. Benjamin Gates died on 11 February 1797 at Barre, MA; (Rice Gen'l Register indicates the date of death as 13 February 1797).^4,5

     Private Makepeace Gates was born on 12 May 1735 at Worcester, MA.^1,2 He was the son of Benjamin Gates and Bethulia Rice. Private Makepeace Gates married Catherine Smith, daughter of Nathaniel Smith and Abigail Battelle, on 6 June 1765 at Rutland District (Barre), MA.^1,3 Private Makepeace Gates died on 9 September 1817 at Barre, MA.^1,4

     Private Thomas Gates was born on 27 June 1732 at Worcester, MA.^1,2 He was the son of Benjamin Gates and Bethulia Rice. Private Thomas Gates married Experience Perry.¹

     Lt. William Gates was born on 14 March 1729/30 at Worcester, MA.^2,4 He was the son of Benjamin Gates and Bethulia Rice. Lt. William Gates married Jean Rice, daughter of Deacon Jonas Rice and Jane Hall, on 21 September 1756 at Rutland District (Barre), MA; (April per Ward).^1,3,2,5
     Lt. William Gates and Jean Rice resided at Barre, MA.⁶ Lt. William Gates and Jean Rice resided circa 1770 at Conway, MA.⁶ WARD notes that William was brother of John, who married Viola Rice (WFN 291), but they show up with different parents. This needs to be investigated. (Ward, p. 131) There is no record of a John Gates born son of Benjamin and Bethulia Gates in the Worcester VR so it is believed that we can discount them as parents of John.⁶

     Ensign Israel Gates was born on 25 January 1727/28 at Worcester, MA.^1,2 He was the son of Benjamin Gates and Bethulia Rice. Ensign Israel Gates married Elizabeth Brewer on 30 April 1753 at Sudbury, MA.^1,3 Ensign Israel Gates died on 31 August 1807 at Conway, MA; aged 81y.^4,1 He was buried at Howland Cemetery, Conway, MA.⁴

     Hannah Benjamin married Simon Gates.² Hannah Benjamin was born on 4 August 1662 at Watertown, MA, registered as Ann.³

     James Stone was born on 13 June 1758 at Watertown, MA.^1,2 He was the son of Deacon Nathaniel Stone and Ruth Stone. James Stone was christened on 18 June 1758 at Watertown, MA.³ He died on 27 August 1787; aged 29y.^1,4 He was buried at Arlington Street Cemetery, Watertown, MA.^4,5
