When differentiation is necessary below, he is called 'yonge John: (to distinguish him from an older brother by the same name)...The wills of both 'yonge' John Frost and Richard Scott plainly place them in the manufacture of woolen cloth, England's principal industry of the day; they were, more precisely, middle men who bought the wool, commissioned the shearing, spinning and weaving (all of which were done in private households) and then arranged the sale of the finished product. He resided after 1588 at Hartest, co Suffolk, England, in later life, probably between 24 Jan 1584/5, when his daughter Elizabeth was baptized at Glemsford, and 30 July 1588, when his first wife was buried at Hartest, 'younge John' Frost moved some five miles to the latter parish, where he died in 1610.
