Lydia Bigelow married Zechariah Child, son of David Child and Mehitabel (?), on 7 October 1784 at Worcester, MA; listed as Zechariah of Shrewsbury and Lydia of Worcester.^2,3 Lydia Bigelow died on 29 December 1849 at West Boylston, MA; aged 85y 2m, under the name Child, from mortification.⁴ She was buried at Town Cemetery, West Boylston, MA.⁴
     Lydia Bigelow had 12 children according to her gravestone.⁴

     Note the conflict between the death reported here and the births of Walter's last two children, all of which appear on the same page of the Rice Gen'l Register. This death does not appear in the published Worcester vital records, but we do not discount it entirely, as it may prove to be off by only one digit.⁶

     Although the Rice Gen'l Register asserts this Asa was the son of Elisha Newton, it seems more likely he was the son of Edward, since this Asa's first son was also named Edward. The two Asas were both born at Shrewsbury, one year apart, and the reported age at death of this Asa does not match either birth exactly, though it is closer to the son of Elisha.

     Elizabeth Heywood was born on 27 November 1762 at Shrewsbury, MA.¹ She was the daughter of Seth Heywood and Martha Temple.
