Mary Rice was baptized on 6 February 1773 at First Parish Church, Sudbury, MA; your authors have confirmed the birth date of 24 June and the baptism date of 6 February as listed in the Sudbury town and church records. Possible resolutions of this conflict include (1) 24 June could be a transcription error for 24 January, or (2) the baptism date could be 6 February 1774, which was a Sunday, the customary day for baptisms.³ She married Hezekiah Smith, son of Henry Smith and Lucretia (?), on 17 August 1794 at Sudbury, MA.^1,4

See the notes for John's wife for a fuller description. This may instead be the Ruth Rice who married Jacob Wetherel at Hutchinson (Barre) in 1775. Further investigation is needed.

Aaron Rice was baptized on 23 April 1765 at 1st Congregational Church, Deerfield, MA.⁴ He married Lona Thompson, daughter of Peter Thompson and Bethiah (?), on 16 April 1789; both of Charlemont.¹ Aaron Rice died at Brecksville, Cuyahoga Co, OH.
