     Thomas McClure was in the military on 1 August 1775 during the American Revolution. He was of Brimfield. Sergeant, Capt. Sylvannus Walker's Company, Col. Timothy Danielson's Reg; 1775; service 1 mo. 2 weeks, 4 days. Also, Sergeant, Capt. Nenemiah May's Co. Discharged July 8, 1777; service 72 days, at Ticonderoga including travel (200 miles) home; company raised 2 months; roll dated South Brimfield.¹ Considerable research is required to verify the dates of Thomas McClure.

     Marriage banns for Ephraim Beaman and Tamar Howe were published on 17 April 1764 at Shrewsbury, MA; listed as Tamar of Lancaster.³ Marriage banns for Ephraim Beaman and Tamar Howe were published on 29 April 1764 at Lancaster, MA; listed as Ephraim of Shrewsbury and Tamar of Lancaster.⁴ Ephraim Beaman died on 25 March 1805; aged 62y.⁵ He was buried at Town Cemetery, West Boylston, MA.⁵

     Daniel Newton was born on 21 December 1655 at Sudbury, MA, (1652 per Ward).^1,2 He was the son of Richard Newton and Hannah (?). Daniel Newton married Susanna Morse on 30 December 1679 at Marlborough, MA; registered as Susannah Moss.³ Daniel Newton died on 20 November 1739.⁴

     Polly Nixon married Capt Peter Cloyes in 1785; of Framingham.¹

     Daniel Billings was born on 25 December 1753 at Concord, MA.² He was the son of Daniel Billings and Elizabeth Farrar. Marriage banns for Daniel Billings and Lydia Wheeler were published on 28 December 1778 at Lincoln, MA.³ Daniel Billings married Lydia Wheeler, daughter of John Wheeler and Lydia Allen, on 11 January 1779 at Lincoln, MA; but the month is torn in the original church records. January is inferred as the expected month of marriage, given the recorded date of filing the intention. Note that the Wheeler genealogy ascribes this marriage incorrectly to Lydia's mother.^4,5 Daniel Billings died on 28 February 1805 at Mason, NH.¹ His estate was probated on 7 October 1805 at Hillsborough County, NH; per probate records #0512 in Nashua, Hillsborough County, NH, Lydia Billings survived her husband, Daniel, a cooper of Mason, NH. She was living in Temple, NH 7 Oct 1805. Daniel had had a long sickness before his death. Lydia was poverty stricken and requested help from the town.
     The published vital records of Clinton, Maine, show the same children with nearly the same birth dates shown here. However, the town of Clinton did not even exist at the time most of these children were born. The book attributes its information to the Billings Bible (Mary) in the possession of Miss Georgia E. Billings of Clinton, ME. Your authors have not determined when that Bible was printed, but believe it to be a secondary source. In particular, it has Daniel's wives mixed up (the names are clearly established by the vital records of both Lincoln and Concord). For further confirmation, we reviewed microfilms of the original Lincoln vital records and found that the birth dates of the children were entered chronologically as the events occurred.^4,6 Daniel Billings and his family moved from Lincoln, MA to Mason, Hillsborough County, NH some time before 1792 when he appears on the tax rolls of Mason, NH.

     Daniel Billings was born on 18 March 1727/28 at Concord, MA, under the name Billing.² He was the son of Joseph Billings and Anna (?). Daniel Billings married Elizabeth Farrar on 31 January 1749 at Sudbury, MA; both of Concord.³ Daniel Billings died on 10 April 1755 at Lincoln, MA; under the name Billing, but the identification is uncertain because of the presence of another Daniel in the same town.⁴

     Lydia Woodward was born on 3 September 1726 at Needham, MA.^2,3 She was baptized on 11 September 1726 at Needham, MA.^2,3 She married Ebenezer Hunting on 21 May 1747 at Needham, MA.^4,5,3 Lydia Woodward died on 23 December 1768 at Needham, MA; aged 43y, under the name Hunting.⁶ She was buried at Needham Cemetery, Needham, MA.⁶

     Ebenezer Hunting was born on 18 May 1728 at Needham, MA.^2,3,4 He was baptized on 26 May 1728 at Needham, MA.² He married Lydia Woodward on 21 May 1747 at Needham, MA.^5,3,4 Ebenezer Hunting died on 3 February 1769 at Needham, MA; aged 41y.^6,3,4 He was buried at Needham Cemetery, Needham, MA.⁶
