     Capt Reuben Rice was born on 20 January 1789 at Ashburnham, MA.4,5,3 He was the son of Reuben Rice and Sarah Metcalf. Capt Reuben Rice married Dorcas Polley, daughter of Peter Polley and Desire Flint, on 13 January 1813 at Ashburnham, MA; (19th per church records) both of Ashburnham.4,1,2,3 Capt Reuben Rice married Charlotte Stearns, daughter of William Stearns and Lydia (?), on 12 July 1820 at Ashburnham, MA.4,6,2,3 Capt Reuben Rice died on 21 March 1858.2 He was buried at Meeting House Hill Cemetery, Ashburnham, MA.7
     He served in the War of 1812 and subsequently was commander of the Ashburnham Light Infantry. In 1837 he removed to Fitchburg and later to Lunenburg, where he died. -----; his 2nd wife d. 1849.8 He and Charlotte Stearns resided at Fitchburg, MA.6 Capt Reuben Rice appeared on the census of 1850 at Fitchburg, MA; #138, Reuben Rice, age 60, male, chair maker, real estate - $600, born MA.9

Abigail Muzzy1,2

     Abigail Muzzy was born circa 1760.2 She married Edmund Rice, son of Edmund Rice and Hannah Gassett, on 30 April 1782 at Hubbardston, MA; (10 April 1792 at Warwick per Ward) Ward reports Edmund was 'then' called of Warwick, but, since Ward has an entirely wrong date for the marriage, this report cannot be taken at face value.3,1,2 Abigail Muzzy died on 4 October 1840 at Hubbardston, MA; aged 80y, under the name Rice.3,2 She was buried at Center Cemetery, Hubbardston, MA.3
     Abigail Muzzy and Edmund Rice resided at Hubbardston, MA.4 On 20 May 1791 Abigail Rice became guardian of Edmund and Abigail's children.4
