     Calvin Stevens resided at Carlisle, MA, spending his early childhood there.8,7 He was in the military entering into patriotic service in the Revolution, was in the battle of Bunker Hill and elsewhere.8,7 He and Esther Wilkins resided in 1776 at Hillsborough, NH.8,7 Calvin Stevens was a great reader and possessing a retentive mind, he was well posted upon the topics of the day and in general information. He was a fluent speaker, and always equipped with some anecdote to illustrate his point; he was an exceedingly agreeable person to meet. He was for many years prominent in town affairs as selectman between 1780 and 1781. Town clerk for 11 years between 1794 and 1805, in all his public dealings distinguished for his correctness and integrity.8,7
