He was in the military serving as a private in the Revolutionary War, in the fortification of Dorchester Heights, the New York campaign of 1776, and in gaurding prisoners of war at Cambridge. He was granted a pension of $29.33 per year in 1833, aged 81^{126 {p263}}.
