She married Peter BREWER 22 Dec 1748 at Framingham, MA, listed erroneously as Abigail^{16,1 {47, 88},2 {p17},45 {p17},32 {p364}}. He was born 17 Apr 1720 at Framingham^{16,2 {p17}}, died 16 Sep 1800 at Southborough, MA⁵⁵, son of Jonathan BREWER and Arabella GOULDING. He was not listed in the 1800 census. Peter BREWER and Elizabeth PRATT resided about 1749 at Southborough^{1 {p88}}.

He died 11 Dec 1821, aged 61y at Templeton, MA, but this identification is uncertain because the cemetery also has gravestones for a wife Abigail and son William who do not match Samuel's known family^{133,1 {p89},2 {p234}}. He was buried at Templeton, in Center Cemetery¹³³.

He married Dorcas STONE Oct 1787 at Framingham, MA, listed as Samuel of Princeton and Dorcas of Framingham^{16,105,1 {p89},2 {p234},45 {p17}}. She was born 8 May 1759 at Framingham^{16,2 {p234}}, died 6 May 1853, aged 94y at Oakham, MA (under the name Dedman), from old age^{181 {77:155.7}}, daughter of Joseph STONE and Dorcas HOBBS. Samuel DADMUN and Dorcas STONE resided after 1788 at Framingham, Princeton, Templeton, MA^{2 {p234}}.
ix: Jonathan DADMUN [QQ7944, w1099], born about 1762 at Framingham, MA, (not found in the published records)^{1 {p89},2 {p234}}. He died 9 Feb 1837^{2 {p234}}.

He married Eunice DUNN Apr 1781, and there are other children in this family, but records are not available^{2 {p234},45 {p18}}. She was thinly documented, daughter of John DUNN and Grace KELLEY.
x: Lois DADMUN [QQ7945, w1100], born about 1764 at Framingham, (not found in the published records)^{1 {p89}}. She died 22 Sep 1850 at Holliston, MA, (19 February 1825 at Framingham per Rice Genealogical Register, but that is the recorded death of an unnamed widow How)^{56,2 {p234}}. She was buried at Holliston, in Central Cemetery⁵⁶.

She married Isaac HOW Jun 1785 at Framingham, MA^{16,1 {p89},2 {p234},45 {p18}}. He was baptized 18 Feb 1759 at 1st Congregational Church, Framingham, MA^{16,2 {p234}}, died 10 Mar 1843, aged 86y at Holliston, MA, listed as a Revolutionary soldier for 7 years and 6 months. Note: there is also a death entry for a William Howe of the same age the previous day^{90,2 {p234}}, was buried at Holliston, in Central Cemetery⁵⁶, son of Isaac HOW and Rebecca EDGELL. Both the Rice Family Supplement and Rice Gen'l Register assert, completely without foundation, that Isaac's surname was Newton, as a supposed "correction" to Ward. However, Ward was obviously right. All of the details of Isaac's family over four generations are recorded in the vital records of Framingham and Holliston under the name How/Howe.
xi: Susanna DADMUN [QQ7947, w1101], born about 1769 at Framingham, MA, (not found in the published records)^{1 {p89}}. She died 17 May 1854^{2 {p234}}.

She married Ezra BELCHER 18 Mar 1794 at Framingham^{16,1 {p89},2 {p234},45 {p18}}. He died 29 Jun 1826 at Framingham¹⁶, son of Jonathan BELCHER and Hannah SEAVER.

She married Daniel BIGELOW 20 Mar 1754 at Framingham^{16,1 {p47},45 {p18}}. He was born 16 Jul 1732 at Framingham (under the name Biglow)¹⁶, died about 1793³², son of Daniel BIGELOW and Rebecca EAMES. He lived in Framingham near Charles Clark.³²

Your authors have confirmed that the marriage intention was filed at Natick the same day the marriage itself was performed at Framingham, despite the rules⁷⁶.

Hannah RICE [QQ2495, w446] (Richard⁴, Jonathan³, Henry², Edmund¹) , born 10 Nov 1735 at Framingham, MA^{16,1 {p47}}, daughter of Richard RICE and Hannah BENT. She died 19 Feb 1814, aged 78y at Framingham (under the name Hemenway)¹⁶. John Bent was appointed Hannah's guardian on 30 January 1737/38. Your authors note that Ward did not identify the John Bent but it is likely that he was Hannah's grandfather.^{1 {p47}}

She married Samuel HEMENWAY. He was born 3 Aug 1724 at Framingham (under the name Hemmenway)^{16,1 {p89}}, died 18 Jun 1806 at Framingham^{16,1 {p89}}, son of Ebenezer HEMENWAY and Hannah WINCH.

She married Thomas STONE Jr Dec 1790, (7th per Ward) at Framingham^{16,1 {p89},2 {p236}}. He was born 26 Jan 1760 at Framingham^{16,2 {p236}}, died 1 Jul 1826 at Framingham^{16,2 {p236}}, son of Thomas STONE and Alice COLLER. Administration on his estate was granted 13 Feb 1827, to Ezra Hemenway upon petition of the heirs, namely, widow Hannah Stone, Thomas, Ebenezer, John, David, and Gilman Stone, and Nathan and Hannah Underwood. The estate consisted of a church pew and $1622.50 of personal property, including a promissory note for $1000 from his son Ebenezer^{71 {p228},20 {docket 21737}}.

Relocated to Nova Scotia, on the ship Charming Molly with Beriah Rice and Ebenezer Rice Jr. He settled on the west side of the Lequille River. Your authors note that John Rice and Ebenezer Rice's names do not appear on the manifest of the Charming Molly, a manifest that has survived^{2 {p119}}. The Rice Genealogical Register, 1970, says "John went to Nova Scotia on ship 'Charming Molly' with Beriah Rice and Ebenezer Rice Jr. He settled on the west side of Lequille River." In his 1897 History of the County of Annapolis, W A Calnek provides the passenger manifest the first trip of the Charming Molly. A Beriah Rice, together with Beriah's sons Stephen and Benjamin, are on that manifest; John Rice's name is not. This does not mean that John did not arrive in 1760, only that he was not on the first, recorded trip of the Charming Molly.

In his addendum to Calnek's history, Judge Savary provides a list of petitioners for a Grant of Confirmation of the Township of Annapolis, dated October 30th, 1765. John Rice's name was not on that list.

Back to Calnek's history, John Rice's name appears on the census of 1768 for Annapolis. He has three males and three females in his household, all American. He was enumerated in the 1770 census with six people in his household, two American and four Acadian. We may assume that the four Acadians were his children born in Nova Scotia.

According to Marion B McCormick, 1975: "He was the ancestor of the greater part of the Annapolis Valley Rice family. He was a friend of Col. Hoar and settled on part of his farm, and during the Colonel's absences from home, he looked after the affairs of his friend. After the Colonel's death, John bought part of the estate, and later passed it on to his son James, who had been born on the farm, and who dies there in 1886." He resided about 1760 at Annapolis, Annapolis Co, NS^{1 {p70}}. He was listed in the township records as surveyor of land Apr 1792 at Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Co, NS^{117 {p175}}. She married first, Reuben RICE 16 Feb 1783 at Sudbury, both of Sudbury, Mass^{1 {66, 117},11 {p260},45 {p25}}. He was born 26 Aug 1757 at Sudbury^{11,1 {p66}}, died 13 Nov 1801 at Sudbury, caused by the bridge breaking down on the highway in Sudbury, which caused his cartload of wood to overturn upon him, (not found in the published records)^{1 {p117}}, son of Nathaniel RICE and Elizabeth STONE. Widow Ruth declined administering, William Rice, Esq of Sudbury, Mass was appointed Administrator of Reuben Rice's estate. Inventory $3612.87, 16 January 1802.

The administrator made a journey to Cambridge in 1805, by order of the Supreme Court, to get Mr. Webber (Professor of Mathematics at Harvard University) to calculate the probable continuance of the life of Micah Rice, (an insane brother of the deceased). It is not known the period to which that calculation extended, but he lived seven years after it was made, and died 15 August 1812, in his 70th year.

The estate of Reuben Rice was distributed, by order of the court, 23 June 1808, to the children, William excepted, who was probably not then living.^{1 {p118}} Reuben RICE and Ruth HAYNES resided at Sudbury^{1 {p117}}.

She married second, Capt. Jonathan BENT 10 Apr 1803 at Sudbury, both of Sudbury^{11,1 {p117},23 {p33}}. He was born 22 Apr 1758 at Sudbury^{11,23 {p33}}, died in 1826 at Sudbury^{23 {p56}}, son of Thomas BENT and Mary STONE. He marched to Concord in Capt. Joseph Smith's company during the Lexington alarm at the start of the Revolutionary War and was in the Ticonderoga the following year in Capt. Asahel Wheeler's company. Subsequently, he became captain of a militia company.^{23 {p33}}
